Finally, after a year or so of eyeballing I brought home a SR1911 Commander 45ACP. Looked all over my area and couldn't find one anywhere so I went to my go to online gun store Grabagun.com. Ordered her on Tuesday and picked her up yesterday. Picked her up for $250 under MSRP, $7 shipping and $25 transfer fee.
I dressed her out in a pair of custom made rosewood grips I had on a Para 1911 I owned a few years ago but had to sell. I'm a very happy camper!

Haven't had a chance to get to the range yet but went out today on a friend's property and shot the he** out of some cans today! Ran about 50 rounds of Perfect 230 grain FMJ thru her. Flawless shooting right out of the box! Gonna tear her down for a good cleaning and hope for a range trip soon. I'm happy!

Yeah, I really felt bad for those cans, but, life's not fair. LOL!

    Nice. Love the grips.

Looks Good, congrats. Why the commander size over the full size 5 inch? Just curious of your thought process.

Just like the looks of the Commander size better. More symmetrical, if that makes any sense. By the way Doug, you'll be hearing from me soon about a holster for this sweety.
