All of a sudden the SR22 is on my radar. Is the general consensus on these good? A thread elsewhere about Taurus TX 22 got me on the trail to the SR2 . Any opinions would be appreciated.

I know nothing of the Taurus so I cannot compare. I do have a SR22 and like it a lot. Fun to shoot, little to no issues, seems well made. I think any FTx or FTe issues have been ammo related, and not many of those.

The SR22 is a pretty well made gun that I got as a new learner and which always seems to keep relevance, 8 guns later. Its surprisingly accurate, it runs with any .22lr ammo, easy to field strip, small enough to carry, has small medium large handle grips to size for your hand. An OK CCW option used with Velocitors. I can put 5 shots in the 5x5 tactical professor exercise in a 2" circle in 5 seconds times 5.

It is hammer-fired. The trigger is light but consistent in single action. It is double action if you want to retry a dud hit. Easy to clean but can run long dirty. Magazines are a breeze to load fast due to a side assist tab. Mags release and drop out cleanly.

Worst things....an upside down safety.....price tag.
