This is a discussion on Gun storage | How to hide your gun safe within the Ruger American Discussion forums, part of the Ruger American Pistol category; I keep a safe in the guest room, reasonable size, with an adequate burn time. Fire Department is 1/4 mile away. I have a home ...
My first one filled up and I got a much bigger one. Buy the largest safe you can possibly afford, as they have a tendency to fill up over time!
I had a customer one time that had his safe on the first floor of the home. House burned to the ground and safe wound up in the basement with the burning house on top of it. The water (from putting out the fire) got in the safe and everything in it was ruined. He was a Leo and lost lots of guns.
Any water proof safes?
I made a piece of furniture into a "hidden in plain sight" type of enclosure. Not fire proof but fast access.
I could, but then I would have to kill you.
under kitchen cabinets, you can seal with magnets for drop down access. Behind false vent covers with Velcro for fast access.
Nope. I'm too old fashioned for all that. Us Southerners have never been too shy about that 2nd Amendment thing. I was back up in KY last week and they're celebrating constitutional carry. A few folks are concerned about some untrained people open carrying. I remember back in the day my mother, like some other Ladies carried a pistol in her purse. Just in case.
Old school was to just lean long guns in the corners of the house when I grew up. Didn't lock the house either.
