Shot my first rounds with the .22lr lcp.

Attached is my target sheet. Left column is the lcp .22lr with a variety of ammo. CCI up top, cheaper as you move down.

Center column is the 380 lcpII on the top 2 circles. After 2 mags, I had a bizarre "pffft" that left a bullet stuck in the barrel using cheap fmj ammo called maxxtech I got at a basspro in Vegas. The lower circles in the center are a mix of lcp .22 and sr22.

The right column is my sr22 for reference.

    All at 5 yards.

I found the .22 lcp trigger a little stiffer than the 380 lcp ii but I believe that is just newness.

I'll keep comparing my lcp with the sr22 to see how I'm doing on any given day.

The identicality of the two different caliber LCP II's is real. The safety I like on the 22. The magazine disconnect keeps me from quick cocking with the mag out.

Nice range report. Keep them coming. Was that Maxxtech or Magtech?

@wsitgm - Thank you for the excellent range report!
I'm very interested in the LCP II .22LR as a range toy/fun gun.
I plan to wait awhile before purchasing one, though.

I have two SR22's that I'm very happy with and enjoy shooting at the range.
Think the LCP II .22LR will add to the fun!

Good data and thanks for the effort. I am going to get the new Ruger LCPII/22LR and I can not wait. I love my SR22 too! Glad you caught the bullet stuck in the barrel, that is a bad thing!

    Here are today's results.

Result #1 that needs mention: nothing but trouble with federal hydroshock hollow points. Usually feed problems. I think the most conical tip starts to feed early while the prior casing is still ejecting. The early feed screws up the ejection as well.

Zero problems with blunt end rounds.

In the 3" targets, same rules as the first report... Left column is lcp.22 (top 3 were cci minimal all the rest cci standard), middle is .380 lcp, right is SR22 with federal bulk. All 5 yards.

The bad guy outline is either lcp .22 or lcp 380. I do middle, head, l/r targets, then throat, then L/R shoulders. I limped thru with hydroshocks on the few 380's. The 22's are all cci standard velocity. That is at 7 yards. The scatter in the middle was just biting my lip and firing as fast as I could. Need lots of practice. A couple of my 3 inch circles with the SR22 were as fast as I could fire, for reference.

Except for speed, I'm shooting the lcp 22 about 80% as well as the sr22.

Back to work. I'll try to run off those maxxtech fmj rounds....hopefully, I won't get another >pooof< firing. No tests for time with that suspicious ammo.

Interesting you are gaining control with the new LCPII 22LR. I have been doing much better in double tap drills with my SR22's and even with my EC9s 9mm. and SR9E. I am waiting for my LGS to get some Ruger LCPII 22LR's in and will take the gamble on one. We have some bigger LGS's that can pre-order for $319.00 but I want to support my LGS. If it does not come through I will just go out and get one.

Here is my first range visit after replacing the firing pin. Anyone replacing their firing pin needs to check carefully which spring Ruger ships with the pin. I believe they sent me a 380 pin spring....way too stiff for the .22lr. I just reused the original spring. All good.

Thanks for the update. Good information to know. I had a great first trip with our new LCPII 22LR and had no issues with the 230 round safety test. Getting ready to put more time in this week. I did get a Hogue Beavertail Grip and all x3 mags worked as advertised. Waiting for x2 more now. I like that target format! Looks like a good training tool.
