If you are recoil sensitive, I would choose either the Federal NYCLAD 125 gr JHP, or the Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel 135 gr +P, both good rounds. They are hard to find, but I find them both at Ammunition To Go. If you're not too sensitive to the recoil, the sky's the limit when you look at quality American made JHP's. Experiment a little and find which round works best for you. Good luck. Yogi ;D

How does Hornady CD light (pink) for females do?.... Of the other 2 you mentioned? I am recoil sensitive. I have carpal tunnel in both wrist and it is very painful ....Plus since Bruce Jenner came out why not shoot pink bullets...it's not like anyone going to throw them back at you ;-)
Anyone else beside me use their reloads? I use rfn 158 gr. Lazercast bullets and trailboss powder. One neat thing about reloading is I like to make them a little warmer in the winter time for a little better penetration.
I just bought a Ruger SP 101 stainless .357 with a three-inch barrel to replace my LCR. Didn't care for the LCR's fat handle, nor its DAO trigger, despite its smoothness. I carried Hornady CD Plus-P in the LCR, and I'll do the same in the SP 101.
I carry Hornaday Critical Defense 90 gr FTX. They feed well, are accurate, and the recoil is very manageable. Specs say 1000FPS, 841 Foot pounds.
So far I have been very pleased. OOPS! I gave the ammo I use for my LCP.
For My .38's I use Speer Gold Dot 135g HP. I should learn to read closely.
After trying several brands, shooting 4, and then checking 5th round for signs of "separation", I now carry either of three. My first is CorBon DPX 125gr. .357mag.(checked, separated, complaint sent to CorBon, tightened all new lots, replaced for me, now works wonderfully), Speer Gold Dot 125gr. .357mag., and finally to reduce recoil if needed, Speer Gold Dot "ShortBarrel" 135gr. .38spl.+P. All are very accurate, dependable and safe to carry for SD for me.
Critical Defense in my wife's and Gold Dot's in mine (ok her's is a S&W 642 but close enough). I do not have the short barrel version...too hard to find.
I took a look at the video and am rather surprised at the penetration-I expected 12-14 inches. However, try shooting it-it is a handful. About the only other load I might consider is the Gold Dot +P short bbl.
+1 on the hornaday critical defense in .357.
I find them very managable to shoot.
