What do think about the SP101 in .9mm compared to the LCR? If both are available. For carry and training. Want to add a LCR in .9mm and they have the SP101 as well. Both are new and for a fair price. Any thoughts?

LCR - better for carry. (smaller, lighter)
SP101 - better for shooting and prettier.
    both excellent choices.

Me: It's not how often you fall down, but how often you get back up!
Cop: That's not how this field sobriety test works.

You will likely have to be a little bit more picky about the ammunition in the LCR nine. You have to watch out for Crip jump which can sneak up on you

That is ok I got what you meant. The only LGS that has any LCR's or SP101's has a 3 to 6 hour wait. My family has the LCR in .9mm and a LCRx in .22. My shooting partner has the SP101 in .9mm and loves it. I am considering the LCR for snubbie practice in .22 or .9mm. Going to wait till I can access one without having to jump through hoops. Starting today to go over reviews of both. Crimp jump does come up.

Update: Both LGS's selling Ruger LCR's and SP101's just sold out. Took x2 days to clear off shelves.

I have the SP101 in 9 (90's model I've had for almost 30 years) and a relative has the LCR in 9 (I have shot on occasion).
I agree with rpott3, both are really great, but the sp101 is a sexy range gun, and the LCR makes a far better Concealed Carry choice.

Gladius64, another beauty there. That is a nice looking model there. I have a SP101 on my list and will also get the LCR snubbie for practice. Nothing local in stock. Will wait until I can get what I want. Looking for LCR in .22 and .9mm/SP101 in both when available.

For decades I often said this as well. Now that I have gotten older I wanted another snubbie to train with and after shooting several over the years in .9mm I have grown to to be more open to it. Who knows what I will end up with but I will see what is available. The LCR and SP101 is offered in many calibers so I will see what is out there. Nothing on the shelves here locally anyway.
