Just saw this. Normally I would jump on buying it, as I love my SR22, which hardly get shot now with ammo so expensive. I wonder why Ruger is introducing this now. Maybe they know something we don't? Hopefully! I miss shooting my 22. cals.

The only reason I'd buy a SR22 now is to get something smaller than my MkIII 22/45 LITE. If I didn't have a decent 22 already the 4 1/2" version might appeal to me. My daughter just ordered a purple SR22.
Walmart has been getting 22lr ammo in (locally) 3 times a week now. At least once a week it is bulk ammo at reasonable prices. No longer a limit of 3 sign on display either. The LGS's also have ammo on their shelves but at a slightly inflated price. I am still not frequently seeing any decent target ammo regularly though. It is mainly hunting and plinking ammo with some mid grade target fodder mixed in. Closer to normal but not there yet.
