The ballistics chart I read said the .327 mag was closer to a little better than 9mm, not just under .357.
My Hornady manual said the .327 Mag chamber pressures exceed that of the .357 and .44 mag's and that the round had extreme flash, noise, and recoil. The round uses 2x the powder a 9mm uses.
Some shooters that carry a revolver may like the extra round. Den

I'd consider it if it were a LCRX...

Thanks for posting that. I like they're reviews, they're not beholden to the advertisers and the reviews seem knowledgeable.

I'm feeling pretty sold on this set up.

Yep, I subscribe to GunTests also, they do a good job, they're just not very entertaining to read. TTAGuns feeds a lot of info and adds their "Schtick" to it.

Do NOT trade off / sell your 9mm revolver! Makes too much sense in certain scenarios.

For me, for carry, I'm pretty sure I'd roll with the .327. Still, +P 9mm is some hot stuff. I do like the extra round that 327 brings ... gets it to sub compact semi auto level of capacity.

Mousegun guy does a good, empirical job I agree. I think the revolver he carries is the 9mm.

What part of what TTaG wrote was a review? They didn't shoot the weapon, they haven't shot the round, and the Metcalf nonsense was word for word from Wikipedia. The author of the report doesn't even know the weight of the weapon! Looks like a quickie cut and past article to me. The author suggests this revolver to his girlfriend and Metcalf suggests the .327 round the family. Really? Does your Spouse, Girlfriend, or Kids shoot a high power snubnose revolver? Den

Welcome to the forum pokerace! Should be a fine weapon and an interesting caliber. Can't wait to hear a real review from one of the Guys. Den

I like the idea of a compact, concealed-hammer revolver, weighing one ounce more than a Smith Model 642 Airweight, yet carrying 20% more ammunition. The .327 Federal Magnum may not be as potent as a .357 Magnum but it has plenty of oomph and the revolver can shoot several different cartridges having significantly less recoil. The new LCR is on my "to buy" list but I wish it were offered with a 3" barrel length.
