Moon clips are really beginning to be a believer in me. Man it is so nice to load up about 30 or so before a range session and so easily put them in. And so very easy to remove and keep your spent casing. No more looking for them to reload later. If you buy expensive brass this will pay off. Much easier to load a moon clip than a mag, and Much cheaper. The Speed Beez moon clips ran great in my LCR and you can get the cost down to about $2.60 each. Sure beats $30.00 for a Magazine. The Moon clip removal tool I use makes a super easy way to quickly remove the spent casing from the clip and stacks them on each removal so you can dump all 5 rounds easily into your dump bag.

The LCR9mm and now with My Hogue Batam Boot grip is now one of the most fun firearms I have shot. Shooting a small barrel revolver takes skill, and a whole lot of satifaction comes your way as you start to master the gun. Get the LCR9mm and get some moon clips. ps. I am getting faster all the time at reloading them into the revolver. Practice makes perfect. Note, moon grip removal tool in the second link.

The only disadvantages I've ever heard about moon clips are the same ones I've heard about speedloaders . . . they can be awkward to carry and it takes a lot of practice to achieve speed and surety with them. Other than that, modern moon clips have been around since the end of WWI for a reason. And if there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that you Dave can and will take the time to achieve speed and surety with them if you make up your mind to do that.
