I would think a little Flitz on the end of a conical polishing Dremel tool would do the trick... Using med to light pressure. That's how I did mine, and it came out nice... like a mirror it is...

how long did you guys polish it for? i have the felt tip for my dremel and did it for about 30 sec or so with some jewelers rouge and it made it kinda shinny but it looked like it put lots of little scratches in the feed ramp. nothing deep but you can see them.. should i polish it for longer? i just dont want to take away any metal? what are these barrels made out of?

I use the polishing compound put out by dremel and with a dremel and p0olsihng cone, it will take u maybe 10 minutes to do the entire barrel. Flitz is OK also and willdothe same job, might just take alittle longer even withthe dremel. You can't hurt the barrel by polishing it to a mirror shine. really makes it look nice and IMO also makes for smoother operation to. do not forget to hit that feed ramp really good and inside the barrel chamber to...

I bet those scratces were there before u ever started to polish that feed ramp, the shine u put on,just magnified it. Jewelers rought is perfect and youare not taking away any metal, Jsut polish away..

I would assume that Sears/Craftsman Polishing compound in their Rotary Tool cleaning and polishing set is the same as Dremel.....Does anyone know for sure?

I just put a dab of mother's metal polish I had sitting in the garage on the ramp and hit it with the dremel polishing tip...Shined it up real quick.

    I used 'simichrome' polishing paste.
    Basically the same as 'Flitz'.
    Works great.
