My suggestion is to not polish it unless you are having problems. In that case, polish away! Most folks use Flitz Metal Polish.

I just purchased a lc380 and had a few hangups and The polishing of the feed ramp has helped me out. It also helps in knowing that your taking out factors of failing as a concealed carry option. I used a dremel and the polishing compound that comes with the dremel. You can pick up a dremel for 30 to 50 at walmart for a cheaper set.

Exactly how I would answer. Also, if you do choose to polish don't go nuts. No need to and you can't put metal back on.

I never did and my LCP works fine. IMHO I would only polish it if you are having issues but some people do just for the looks. Again comes to personal preference.

I polish mine after I shoot 1500 rounds through Elsie and the LC9. I use Red Rouge that I got from my local jewler to polish the feed ramps and it works very well.

Polishing will not hurt anything and will likely help. But remember, it's polishing. That means you're not sanding, grinding or in any other way changing the feed ramp.

I used the polishing pads out of a " Turtle Wax Headlight Lens Restorer kit". Pads are numbered 1-4, worked great.
Feed ramp has a mirror finish now..

It's the paste and it comes in different looking containers. You can order it online and it's also available in many gun stores. It's usually sold locally in tubes (like toothpaste). With a Dremel and felt wheel, it will bring a barrel into the "white" very fast...removing all the bluing. It is usually applied by hand in other applications, and it says it won't remove gun bluing...but definitely will with repeated hand-rubbing. Don't use it on the slide. It's good to use on the exterior of an old firearm to remove years of crud and will make a gun look almost brand new, but again, repeated hand application will take blue off over time...so be advised. I used it to polish my barrel and ramp to a mirror finish (with Dremel). I reapply to the barrel once a month to prevent rust (by hand).
