A big YES from me. (I've got the LC9s (w/o pro)).
then again, just to add to your confusion, considering the Glock 43? (I am cause I can get the Trijicon HD sights that I like)
My wife accused me of being immature.
I told her to get out of my fort.

The Shield has the best reputation of those three - from all I have read. Certainly the Glock 43 has it's strong advocates too! I like my Kahr CW9 - if you want more to contemplate !!!!!!!!!!

youtube has a plethora of subcompact 9mm comparisons (a flavor of LC9 usually being one of them) - it's really a personal choice - same thing I've told family/friends/users/customers for years when they've approached me and asked, "What kind of laptop should I buy...?"

Shoot as many of them as you can (the pistols - not the laptops), nothing like a test drive to give you an initial hint of what just works for you.

BTW - since you're looking for another carry gun, what is your current carry piece?

Get the XDS 9mm. Springfield XDS is way better than the Shield.

After a few more posts Joezilla, you should be sufficiently confused enough to buy several 9mms !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out the Performance Center Shield, as well. Very nice.

I got an XDs 9mm to replace my LC9 and absolutely love it. 2,000 rounds without a hiccup, very accurate.

I shot both the LC9s Pro and the Shield extensively before settling on the XDs. My main problem with the LC9s Pro was that the trigger was just too light for me to feel safe as a carry gun. That's my personal feeling...YMMV. I like the added comfort of the grip safety on the XDs. If the Shield or the LC9s was offered with an ambi safety, I might have opted for on of those, but as a lefty they just don't work for me with a left-side-only thumb safety. Many people don't want a thumb safety on a carry gun. I like having something other than a trigger safety. The XDs fill the bill nicely for me...able to get it into play quickly without any extra manipulation, but with the grip safety providing one more level of comfort.

I currently switch between an XD Mod 2 Subcompact in 9 MM and a S&W J frame 642. I wish to retire the J frame to the bedside drawer, hence the desire for another carry piece. I want a single stack 9, just not sure which one.

Ah...the 642...one of my personal favorites. I was considering the Airweight for awhile before my introduction to the LC9.

Well, you could keep up the Springfield theme if you did indeed go with the XDs.
