It seems like I saw a photo comparison recently on the forum between an LC9, a Shield and an XDS9. I can't find it now. Was I just dreaming I had all three?

Does anyone else remember seeing that?

Not my photos, but I did find these on the web for you. I believe from left to right it,s thew LC9, XDS, Shield then BG380. Not sure if this helps or not.

Here's a side shot of the same guns. I noticed it's an XDS45, but I believe it's physically the same size as the XDS9.

Perfect! Thanks so much. WOW that XDS is small. Brother-In-Law has the full size XD9 and it is a very nice, very accurate pistol. If the XDS9 is anything like it at that size it will be a good one.

You're welcome. I had no idea that XDS45 was that small either. Very interesting.....may have to take a look at one.

I wouldn't mind having the XD 45 but I don't care for that grip safety on the XD's.

I don't even notice the grip safety on an XD, it's like a 1911 in that way. On the other hand, no gun fits everyone so pick the one you like that fits and does what you need.

I own an XDs .45, and it's a nice pistol. However, if I carried either one I'd prefer my LC9 over the XDs (my normal carry gun is a Glock 39 in .45 GAP). The LC9 is about 2 ounces lighter than the XDs .45 but subjectively it just feels much lighter to me. The XDs 9mm, btw, has the same dimensions as the .45 version but weighs an ounce more. As for the grip safety, I think it's more of a gimmick on the Springfields than something of any real usefulness, but being an old 1911 man from WAY back it really doesn't bother me.

Different trigger on the LC9 compared to the other two.

Shields just had a recall by S&W.

The XDs models are not made in the USA. The LC9 is.

Can't go wrong with any of them though.

    Good luck in your search!

Shield has the best trigger of the three. Safety advisory on the Shield, not a recall.
