Kahr CW9 vs. LC9

A buddy of mine was all set to buy the LC9 after shooting mine, then found a Kahr CW9 and bought it instead. I haven't shot it but I like the simplicity and shorter trigger pull. It's a hair lighter too, external dimensions the same. Any opinions?

have no knowlege but was in a prevalent gun store in louisville last wk and the only gun cases that had an abundance of guns were the Kahr and the Beretta, every other brand was down to a couple of top shelf 1911 's. i thought to myself ... what is wrong w those guns ?

One of the Kahr owners will come along and fill in the gaps. My take, short & sweet. Both are nice guns. Kahr has a better trigger. I believe the Kahr cost a little more. I want to like Kahrs. I am absolutely certain they are good guns. I just don't like the look of them. Stupid? Probably.

My daughter in law is a school nurse and the school she works for has adopted the CCW on premises and she also has been approved for training for it. (Yeah, I am proud of her). The Kahr CW9 is what she wants to purchase for this. I will be monitoring this thread, thanks for starting it.

I can't really comment on the LC9 because I have never fired one. I was considering one but decided against it because I didn't really care for some of the features, and because of the many problems posted about on this forum and others. Finally found a Kahr CW9, and I am very pleased with it, and very impressed with the Kahr pistols overall. Very nice trigger, easy to carry and fun to shoot. Mine has performed flawlessly so far. I still love my Rugers, but my every day carry is now the Kahr.

My brother has a CW40 that has been very problimatic, been back to Khar at least two times. It continues to have fail to feed issues. It now spends it's time in a drawer as he's lost all confidence in it and trys to decide whether to take a loss on it and trade it in. He's leaning toward another S&W M&P or perhaps a revolver.

Interesting, my chamber looks funny also, mine's a 12/2010 build and I have no warranty.At least Ruger stands by their product.

I could always sell off the CW, it would be the first pistol I sold, this year anyway.

I really like my Kahr CM9 and yes trigger is awesome. Comparing Ruger to Kahr for my future purchases, I would go Ruger every time. Kahrs seem to require too many tweaks for reliability, long break ins, relatively short recoil spring lives, and have inferior magazines.
The Kahr fanatics always say quit yer bitchen and sand it here, file it there, squeeze it in a vice, oil it at x,y,z. By comparison my Rugers go go bang out of the box and 0 failures period.
