It's probably been asked before, but I've got an LC9 on lay-away and I'm hoping to get it out on the range by January (if not sooner). What brand/weight of range ammo seems to work best for you all? I'm leaning toward Federal Hydra-Shok or Speer Gold Dot for my carry ammo because either one is a good round, and either one can be easily found in these parts. The Hornady 115 grain Critical Defense gets good marks, but I'm trying to avoid +P ammo and I can't find any 115 grain range ammo around here, and I'd like to keep my self-defense and range ammo in the same weight range.

I use the Hornady 115 and the CCI Blazer Brass 124 gr FMU. I shoot 3-4 115's per every 200-300 124's. I have no problems.

I carry daily with the ftx critical defense. Range ammo...usually blazer 115..Good luck (I think that gold dots would also be a good carry ammo.)
    Why is there air?

For target practice, Midway has 115gr 9mm Magtech FMJ on sale now for $11.19 for 50.... $15.00 shipping foor as many as you want, I think. I got 6 boxes, and that nifty Mag loader that I was talking about in the other thread.
It's actually in stock, and on sale....Get it while it's hot...
I carry with Hornaday 147 gr. XTP hollow points.

    +P in LC9 is a MUST avoid.
My wife accused me of being immature.
I told her to get out of my fort.

No. On page 11 of the LC9 manual it states that +P ammo is ok but may shorten the service life of the pistol. It is the +P+ ammo that Ruger says not to use.

I've used 115 gn Federal, Winchester White Box, TulAmmo, Georgia Arms, Remington, Blazer, American Eagle, Independence, 124 gn NATO, Critical Defense standard and +p, Critical Duty, Guard Dog, and Gold Dot in my LC9. It's all worked fine.

    I can't say I really enjoy shooting the +p with the LC9.

I use white box at the range and carry CAR-BON HP +P. I alway use a full mag (7) of the +P just to feel the difference. The +P is way more powerful. Still accurate and a good SD carry round.

I agree that this gun is a SD CCW and not a range gun for accuracy for target shooting, but you do need to practice using it.

9mm range ammo is pretty scarce around here too. Go to SGAmmo.com | Family Owned and Operated, Stillwater Oklahoma They've got good prices and excellent service.
