In my LC9 I will not load +P ammo.

In my SR9C I carry +P for EDC.

Hornady Critical Defense loads are not +P.

Hornady Critical Duty loads can be either standard loads or +P loads and are plainly labeled accordingly.

The 9mm and 380 (my carry ammo) are not, but they may manufacture +p in other calibers if there are weapons of that caliber that are designed for +p (just guessing). The "Critical Defense" ammo is just a brand name for their innovation of having a little plastic thing in the tip. I believe it is designed to promote a deeper penetration before the expansion of the HP begins.

The little plastic thing is designed to keep the hollow point from filling up with clothing and turning into an FMJ.

A technical way of saying "it is designed to promote a deeper penetration before the expansion of the HP begins"

In many contexts, "What would Jesus do?" is not a particularly helpful inquiry.

You made a blanket and incorrect statement about an entire line of ammunition. If you don't want to be corrected then add qualifiers next time.

I have to agree with yz, someone with a .38 could try to run Hornady .38 special +P (even though it says .38 Special +P on the box) and cause injury. Not everyone understand what we say all the time in our threads even we know what we are trying to say. yz was just making sure everyone understood that Hornady makes a .38 Special +P and not use them in a standard .38, not that you would put them in a LC9. I think I got this right, if not sorry.

I shoot 115gn FMJ at the range (Blazer or Federal) and carry 115gn Federal Hydroshock JHP. Although I know there is a lot of 9mm ammo with better penetration/expansion, etc. I like to practice with ammo with a similar "feel" to what I carry.
