I just received the springs to upgrade the Trigger on my Ruger SP101 plus the video that shows the steps to complete the upgrade.
Any tips or advice I could use to make my upgrade safer and easier.

Just curious Ice, where did you get the springs and video? Wonder if that setup is available for the GP100? Also wonder how this affects the warranty?

Got the upgrade from Midway USA and they are Wolff springs, under $10 plus ship. The Video is from youtube and I do believe they have one for the GP100.
As for the warranty, I am told it would void the warranty however in my case it does not matter since my SP101 has given me 20 years of great service, no repairs just a heck of a lot of fun at the range.

Mukwah, they do have GP100 spring kit for $9.99 but out of stock. My kit was also out of stock but I got the kit in about 10 days.

The trigger job video on YouTube is very good, I watched it and was able to do mine with ease. I changed the trigger spring to the lightest spring and DID NOT change the hammer spring. It was advised in most cases not to due to the possibility of light hammer strikes.

While I was inside I took some 1000 grit wet dry sand paper to all of the mating surfaces as directed in the video. It made one hell of a difference in double action and single action performance!

Watch out for the two springs, they will shoot out!

I just finished installing the 9 lb spring only and it made a big difference. Feels great but I need to take it to the range and fire about 50 to 100 rounds thru it.

Thanks for the info on the hammer spring, I may not change it.

If mne shot any better i'd be scared of it.. next you need to try the Williams fire sights!

This is with a little window light not a flashlight. They show up well in bright sunlight but are not that good at night, I got this set on my range/hunting gun

I just checked out my trigger mod at the range and all is well. Even firing 357's one right after the other is easier and I have better control over my aiming. I am very happy with it.
