Just picked up our LCP the other day and see the Serial # on our pistol is 372-378__. Test round is dated 11/03/2009. Signed by Preston King. On a side note, Preston signature is also on our SR9 test round package. Gent sure does a lot of shooting.....Where do I sign up for that program.
I know the LCP serial numbers started with the pre-fix of 370 in production, but how are the #'s assigned. Do we know the total manufactured to date ?

...just have to follow the time line as we've followed production. Again, thx to members reporting serial numbers and date stamps. This topic may not appeal to all, but a few of us find the info interesting from a Ruger historical standpoint in many respects.

My 372 was fired on 11/12/2009 by Mr. David Dean, so Preston doesn't shoot them all.

My 372-396xx was tested by David Rendon on 8/31/2009. These guys could become mythic characters in the lore of LCPdom.

Do the dots connect to a tester, or did Ruger go to Staples and buy the bulk lot of mixed color dots? (connecting two threads)

Speaking of Serial #'s Mine is 371-945xx. My box and another got mixed up at Gander MTN and the Box I have is 372-122xx. I called Ruger and they sent me new labels for the box but my shell casing is for the other Serial #. I took the envelope to Gander today and they are going to call the other guy to see if we can switch cartridges. My ? is can someone tell me when my 371 gun was made approx.

It takes one round to kill. The others are a waste of money.

    372-924xx
    372-926xx

Both test-fired early 12-09 (don't have exact date handy), purchased a few weeks later.

It's looking like they're cranking out about 300 per day...
