Had a call from my wholesaler (I'm an FFL) today pushing the old version of the LCP. He stated they got a truck load of them in and they are being discontinued. I pretty much expected that to happen eventually. I tried to call Ruger CS, but they are closed today.

I may order a handful of them just to have on hand. They are also on sale from the wholesaler at a good price as they are trying to dump them since they have a large number of them.

In the future, it looks like the only option will be the LCPII. If so, so much for the options of an LCP or LCPII that has been mentioned here lately.

Glad I bought my Custom when I did. Not happy with the size, weight or trigger of the II.

I looked for the custom on the ruger web page and it is not even an option there. I guess the LCPII replaced it?

When I was at the range the other day they had neither. I did not ask about them getting the LCP, but he said they sell all the LCP II's about as soon as they put them in the case.

Looks like I need to look a little harder for a custom. I just picked up my second gen2 last week.

Thanks for the heads-up, lws380. I figured it was only a matter of time before the LCP got discontinued. Time for folks who've been sitting on the fence to get one while the getting is good.

I assume it is correct information. They are a large wholesaler, so if they are not going to get any more, then I'm thinking it is correct information. I'm sure Ruger would love to make the LCPII the only option since it is a good deal more expensive ($259 vs $349 comparing MSRP's). Why have a cheaper product to compete against your self. At least cost wise, not considering the other issues that have been pointed out on this forum.

I believe the Custom was dc'd by Ruger when the II was introduced.

Figured as much, I just have not been on their website for a fairly long time.
