The only thing I can tell you for sure is that CS rep I spoke to at Ruger recently told me that she hadn't heard that LCPs were being discontinued nor did she have any reason to believe they would be. Hope that helps.

Indeed they did & we all lived through the shortage of guns & ammo because of the panic buying, if not for the range I use having a inside track with a local factory reloader there would have been times that we would have had no ammo to shoot at all.
If this is not the bottom I wonder if I should wait, I am looking at a M&P Shield for my daughter the last price I saw was $339 & I think S&W still has a rebate going.

When it comes to trying to figure out which way gun prices are going to move, my crystal ball is cloudy. Over time, however, gun prices rise. So If you see a price you like on a gun you like, I'd suggest you jump on it!

check out palmetto state armory (dot com) for deals on the shield.
    I got a .40 w.o thumb safety for $279 minus the $75 rebate = $204
My wife accused me of being immature.
I told her to get out of my fort.

The 9mm Shield at PSA is $289.99 before the $75 rebate - free shipping too. A

And I jumped on their $319.99 price (before rebate) a month ago.

The shield is very concealable IWB with a forward cant. It can be pocket carried in a front pocket with baggy pockets like in cargo shorts or pants. A little long for a back pocket IMO, but if you can do it, more power to you. Generally will not work well in tighter pockets and every day jeans, unless they are really baggy.

The Shield is similar in size to the LC9 and the XDS 3.3. All three are popular carry guns.
