As you know, I became the owner of a new LCPII this weekend. I have not shot it yet as I am having a flair up of carpal tunnel in my left wrist. I did however take time to play around with it. I found myself questioning how to properly grip such a small pistol. I am right handed and normally I do NOT wrap my left index finger around the trigger guard but rather below the guard with my other fingers. I've always been told, and read that wrapping your index finger around the trigger guard could cause accuracy issues. However, when I grip the small LCP, my left index finger wants to naturally wrap around the trigger guard. So I am curious to hear from other LCP owners, what is your preferred grip?

As with all my guns, below the trigger guard. It works for me.

I never did get the Knack of shooting a pistol with two hands. I can usually do just as good with one hand if a pistol was designed to used two hands on it it would have had two handles.

First off, I literally feel your pain. Carple tunnel was about the worst physical pain I've ever experienced. It's not just a little inconvenience, mine wasn't anyway. I remember waking up screaming, both hands swollen up like balloons and no matter what I did, I couldn't get relief. It's finally calmed down as long as I'm careful not to over do stuff. As far as grip on the lcp, I've tried everything at the range and what works best for me, aside from gripping it tightly is wrapping my index finger from my support hand over the trigger guard. As far as my trigger finger, using the joint right in between the first and second pad to press the trigger. With the heavy trigger pull, using the first pad threw my shots off. Anyway, that's what works for me. Some good natural remedies online for the Carple BTW

Always below the trigger guard. Gripping in front of the trigger guard w/ your non-firing hand brings the chance of inadvertantly missing the trigger guard and grabbing/hitting the trigger. For me, I shoot both my LCP Custom and LCP II much better with a very firm grip by the firing and non-firing hand. I've seen more malfunctions likely caused by weaker grips ("limp twisting") on LCPs.

Lots of good thoughts here and thanks for your input. I always make sure to practiced both one handed shooting as well as two handed. After all, God forbid in the case of an emergency, one may not have the time to place both hands on a gun and aim.
