... it was $199 plus tax ($216 OTD). My 2008 production 1st Generation gun is just fine, but I had paid $100 more when it was new. Couldn't pass up these dumping prices, so why not? If it's reliable as the old one, then I'll tote it in my rotation - I like the improved sights & better trigger.

Yes, it's brand new in box with papers, lock, and a pocket holster. Only one magazine though.

A new Field & Stream store opened nearby, and the $199 LCP "sale" was part of the bait promotion to get people into the business.

It would've been nice to find the stainless slide version at that price, but I imagine those are long gone around the country. Seems Ruger must've had a bunch of inventory on these Gen 2 guns, as several online dealers have had them advertised for the same price. Cabela's too, supposedly.
The LCP II doesn't get me all that excited, even with its improved features.

Bought my Gen2 Lcp about a month ago from a local store for 219 new. I almost bought the Lcp II but the trigger on that one is just too soft for me, I would worry about carrying it chambered. Here is my edc for spring/summer; I carry a Sccy cpx2 9mm in place of the Lcp when I feel its needed.Bought a Gen 2 LCP (not the LCP II) just because....-edc.jpg

That's awesome! Congrats on he new(er) LCP. A couple of months ago, I got a Custom thru GB for $225 + $15 shipping + $28 FFL - $268 and considered that a great deal.

Cabela's has LCPs back in stock online. So they may not be discontinued yet. Here's the link for those who may be interested:

Thanks for the info/link, but for $250, think I'll hang on to my moolah

Yep. LCPs aren't cheap at $250. But if Cabela's puts them on sale again, they could go as low as $199. At that price they're a buy!
