I had my LCP in a holster and the holster was a tad tight. The holster manufacturer suggested that I heat the holster with the gun in it, then move it around and then put the whole unit in the freezer for about 3-4 minutes. Well....50 minutes later I remembered the gun was in the freezer (unloaded of course). Surprisingly the slide still cycled. But it started "defrosting" and the gun was covered in water. I have since taken the gun apart and placed it in a bowl of rice to dry it out. Should I be worried about the firing pin and slide "innards" rusting?? I just hate the thought of trying to dissemble the whole slide. Any help would be appreciated!

So heading out with the family and a hand picked teen friend of my son is sitting the house. I've acquired a few long guns and don't have a safe.
My thinking for now is to lock them in my car's trunk, in a locked garage. Car has an alarm and trunk can be locked permanently for only one key. I'll have the keys. Dogs guard the house and garage 24/7. Not trained attack dogs, just good watch dogs.

Don't know anyone else I'd trust and my father-in-laws locking cabinet is a joke and could be breached with a light screwdriver. For now the best I can do.
Upon return, I'll empty before car is used. I don't want any explaining to do during a traffic stop.

Liability wise, am I covering my bases...Think this is good enough?

I bought my new LC9 2 months ago. Bought two additional new Ruger magazines.
All three drop out while firing. No fingers touch the release during firing.
I can pull one of the magazines out just by wiggling it! I have noticed this problem throughout these threads. The common answers are:
1. Your finger is hitting the release. This is not happening.
2. You have an extension plate on it. Happens with both the flat and extended plate.
3. You have a bad magazine. Happens on three brand new mags.
4. You have a defective Ruger. Yep... that is what I think.
I am sending it back to Ruger tomorrow for them to repair or replace (hopefully).
Then I am going to trade it in on a Glock 19 when I get it back.
I will re-post with the repair Ruger makes for your info.

Any ideas? I have tried soaking in WD-40 already.

OK...what can I say. Got so excited at a local Wally world and I saw some 380 ammo. Im a bit low on it and really need to practice with it. I suck with this firearm. barely 200 Rounds through it. Anyways, it was TULLO AMMO (steel cased) will it even feed right?

My last box (still have some) was UMC ( which I now hear the LCP wont fire it for crap) which I verified quite well at the range! so I tried polished feed ramp. still shoots like CRAP.

I will have to try it and see but may have been a waste, and sorta knew it buying it so I only bought 1 box.

Thoughts on TULLO? anyone have some experience with it?

For those of you who pocket carry your LC9, which type of pants/shorts have you felt the easiest to conceal it? I'm still looking at getting an LC9 and I usually wear shorts year round (even when its snowing). Am a little on the larger side and don't think I could IWB carry since I can't stand my phone to even be clipped on my side. So pocket carry seems to be my best option. I just wanna know what kind of pants/shorts everyone wears when pocket carrying so I can judge if I think I can in my shorts. Thanks.

I will start off by saying don't have a Ruger, I noticed a couple things in the forums that drew my attention so I decided to sign up. I just completed an amazing whole weekend workshop with K.R.A.F.T Louisville that earned my my NRA certification in First Steps Pistol Orientation, Home Firearm Safety Course, Basic Personal Protection outside the home and Advanced personal Protection outside the home. Tomorrow I am going to do my Concealed carry class. (I should of had it already but there was a mistake about the certification needed for instructors which has now been fixed)

I am originally from Canada and recently became a US Citizen which was rather neat. I work as a dog trainer and since I go into strangers home as part of my work environment I feel a firearm would make this a little safer. My husband would be right there with me doing the CCW but he is blind so he sticks to shooting at the gun range although I do understand there is a legally blind person that does that their concealed carry.

Hmm not sure what else to say about myself feel free to ask if you have any questions.
